DEOMI E-LEARNING GENERAL INFORMATION


DEOMI provides online modules which are available through the JKO Learning Management System (LMS).  An organization's action plan can include the opportunity to take these course(s) to heighten awareness on these factors.  Courses are designed for Department of Defense customers and are only available to Common Access Card (CAC) holders. 

Please see Course Descriptions for specifics for each topic.

The below professional development lessons will give the individual an awareness about the listed topics.  The Lessons will give the user key knowledge that will help them improve their organization’s command climate, trust between team members, and team cohesion.

They are not to be confused with the formal pre-requisite lessons required by DEOMI for students that will be attending courses in-residence.

In order to complete the online courses you must navigate to the JKO LMS at https://jkodirect.jten.mil/Atlas2/page/login/Login.jsf 

To access each of the E-Learning Online modules by searching the course catalog using the Prefix:  DEOMI.  Some courses may be undergoing updates and may not be available at this time. 

 

INSTRUCTIONS TO PRINT YOUR CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION:

You can PRINT YOUR OWN CERTIFICATE by following these instructions.

1. Go to the Learning Management System at https:///jkodirect.jten.mil

2. Log in with your CAC or Username and Password.

3. Click on the "Certificates" Tab at the top of the page.

4. You will see a list of your completed courses here. You can either locate your course by simple scanning the list or selecting the appropriate prefix in the drop down list and selecting Apply Filters. Once you have located your course, click on the Certificate icon located in the far right column. You will be able to view and print your certificate from here.

AGE DISCRIMINATION (DEOMI-ATS-2040)


Course Objective

Upon completion of this awareness lesson you will be able to:

  • Recall basic components of the Age Discrimination in Employment Act. (ADEA)
  • Recognize Employment Policies and Practices outlined in the ADEA
  • Recall some areas of Age Discrimination that are protected
  • Outline strategies to overcome age discrimination in the workplace.

The Age Discrimination lesson is designed for Department of Defense customers. This course will help DoD civilians and Service members understand what may constitute age discrimination and suggest strategies to overcome it.

The Hazing and Bullying course is designed for Department of Defense customers, but is also open to the public. This course will enhance knowledge of the concept of hazing and bullying and give you the tools to identify and understand when hazing or bullying is occurring and provides strategies to prevent these actions.

SEXUAL ASSAULT PREVENTION AND RESPONSE (DEOMI-ATS-3000)


Course Objective

Upon completing this lesson, you will be able to:

  • Describe sexual assault and consent
  • Describe the DoD Social Ecological Model
  • List primary prevention techniques/strategies at the Individual, Relationship, and Leadership levels

Course Description

The Sexual Assault Prevention Awareness course is designed for Department of Defense customers, especially leaders at the O-6 command level and below, but is also open to the public.

Note: The content is designed to increase student knowledge and awareness in the prevention of sexual assault.

This course explores leadership's responsibility in fostering and maintaining a climate of dignity and respect where every stakeholder can live and work free of sexual assault and its associated behaviors. This course also offers various techniques that can be employed to prevent sexual assault from the individual, peer leadership, and formal leadership perspectives.

Due to the sensitive nature of the lesson content, the information should not be taken out of context.
